Justice Minister Tzipi Livni and Finance Minister Yair Lapid should leave the ruling coalition of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in protest of his policies as they relate to the peace process, Labor Party MK Nachman Shai said on Saturday.

“This government is harming Israel’s vital interests all for a cluster of apartments in the territories,” Shai said. “It has chosen the path of confrontation rather than agreement.”

Shai, who was speaking to a town hall meeting in Rehovot, called on Livni and Lapid to join forces with Labor in creating a “center-left” political bloc that would work to topple the government and battle the right in the next election.
