Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid on Wednesday accused Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu of choosing "settlements over the collapsing middle class."

Lapid's comments came after the announcement Wednesday that the Housing and Construction Ministry had issued some 200 tenders for new housing units in the West Bank settlements, Kiryat Arba and Efrat.

Lapid stated that the prime minister had advanced the settlement plans as part of his fight against Bayit Yehudi leader Naftali Bennett for the right-wing vote.
