Lawyer says interrogators emotionally manipulated Jewish terror suspects

Itamar Ben-Gvir, an attorney for one of the five Jewish terror suspects who were ordered released Thursday, claimed that interrogators psychologically and emotionally manipulated his client while under Shin Bet custody.

Ben-Gvir said that interrogators spit on his client, made statements bordering on sexual harassment, kept him tied up for hours and claimed that his parents had turned him in and that his father was also under arrest, according to a statement released by the right-wing legal aid organization Honenu.

"From the first moment I claimed that these are empty suspicions," Ben-Gvir said, "it was clear that the arrests rose essentially from the Shin Bet's own PR considerations. I do not understand how the prosecutors permitted these arrests."

"I expect the Shin Bet interrogators to do some soul searching," Ben-Gvir added, "and I am sure that the final suspect will also be released soon."
