The head of Labor party Amir Peretz and the head of the Meretz party Nitzan Horovitz met on Monday to discuss the upcoming elections in September and agreed to continue to keep in contact.

"I congratulated my friend Nitzan Horovitz on his election to the role of the head of Meretz and we discussed the shared challenges of the democratic camp of Israel and ways to change the right wing government headed by [Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu in the way of social justice, peace and equality," said Peretz.
