Lebanese President Michel Suleiman on Monday praised the Lebanese Armed Forces for confronting Israel in an earlier border clash in which the IDF and LAF exchanged gunfire.

On the dispute between Israel and Lebanon over the demarcartion of the maritime border between the countries, Suleiman said "“We should work on demarcating and protection our maritime borders and preserving our rights in our territorial waters,” Naharnet reported.

Suleiman was speaking at a celebration marking Lebanon's Army Day.
