Lebanon: Authorities arrest 4 suspected members of car-bombing ring

Lebanese authorities on Sunday arrested four suspected members of a car-bombing ring after a car containing large quantities of explosives was apprehended the day before in a town south of Beirut, Beirut-based newspaper The Daily Star reported.
“Four people were arrested and are suspected of belonging to a cell planning to detonate explosives in vehicles,” Lebanon's caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel told the Daily Star.
According to sources cited by the Lebanese daily, the four suspects were linked to the car seized by authorities on Saturday in the coastal town of Naameh. The vehicle had reportedly contained over 250 kg of explosives.
