Left-wing activist Pollak begins 3-month prison service

Left-wing activist Jonathan Pollak arrived Tuesday morning at the Hermon prison in the lower Galilee to begin his three-month prison service.
Pollack was arrested and charged with participating in an illegal assembly two years ago at a demonstration against Operation Cast Lead.
Upon his arrival at the prison, Pollak said: "Prison is part of a growing trend here to curb protests in Israeli society. It has happened to Palestinians as well who were imprisoned for longer prisons terms than mine, without a fair trial and without the state having evidence against them."
