Left-wing lawmaker demands probe against minister for 'giving police license to murder'

In the wake of Friday’s shooting death of an Israeli Arab youth by police in Kafr Kana, Meretz chair Zahava Gal-On is demanding an investigation as to whether Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch “gave police license to murder.”
Aharonovitch was criticized by lawmakers on the left after remarking that “all terrorists must be put to death” in a briefing to reporters at the scene of last week’s vehicular terrorist attack in Jerusalem.
“Not only should there be an investigation into the killing of the youth from Kafr Kana at point-blank range by police,” Gal-On said, “but there should also be a probe into the responsibility borne by the public security minister, who just this week said that ‘a terrorist who harms civilians is worthy of death’ and who gave license to murder with an order that is patently illegal.”
“The norms of the occupation and the assassination methods by police in the territories that have creeped across the Green Line and into Jerusalem now threaten the Arab citizens of Israel,” Gal-On said.
