Israel’s Minister of Defense Avigdor Liberman will meet senior American officials Thursday as part of a working visit to the United States.

Liberman, who began his visit on Wednesday, will meet with National Security Adviser John Bolton at the White House. He will then be welcomed for an official visit at the Pentagon for a meeting with his counterpart, Secretary of Defense James Mattis.

On Wednesday, Liberman met with members of the US Senate’s Armed Services Committee.

Defense Minister Liberman thanked the senators for their support in preserving the IDF's qualitative military edge and especially for their assistance with the missile defense program.

"Congress has always stood by Israel during the most sensitive of scenarios, and I'm convinced we will continue to receive their full assistance and support in the near future,” he said.
