Chairman of the Yisrael Beytenu party, MK Avigdor Liberman, said Wednesday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's "conduct encourages" continued terrorism and called for his resignation following a car ramming attack on three soldiers the previous day.

"If for no other reason why Netanyahu should resign, it should be for the scandalous policy of immediately returning the remains of terrorists to their families," Liberman said.

"While a soldier fights for his life in the hospital following a car-ramming attack" in the West Bank, he added, "the body of a terrorist has been returned to his family and is received with cheers from hundreds."

"Netanyahu's behavior not only damages the public trust but seriously damages the deterrence of potential terror attacks" in the future.

Three soldiers from the Kfir Brigade were wounded, one seriously, in a car-ramming attack in the Binyamin region of the West Bank on Tuesday evening when a Palestinian driver drove his vehicle into them while they were standing near a checkpoint between the settlements of Dolev and Talmon.

Magen David Adom evacuated the two lightly wounded soldiers, ages 21 and 22, to Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem’s Ein Kerem. The third soldier, who sustained multiple injuries, was airlifted from the scene by a military helicopter and rushed to Sheba Medical Center at Tel HaShomer in Tel Aviv, according to MDA.

The soldier remains in critical condition and is currently recovering in the intensive care unit, according to a spokesperson for Sheba Medical Center at Tel HaShomer Wednesday.

Other soldiers at the checkpoint shot and killed the Palestinian driver.
