Live shipping of lambs to Israel to end in three years according to a law bill that passed first stage of legislation in Knesset on Thursday.
The lambs are currently shipped to Israel and suffer from crowded and unhealthy living conditions on their journey to be slaughtered.
The law bill enjoys wide support from a range of politicians, from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Joint List MKs, three Rabbinical leaders issued an opinion supporting the bill, Channel 2 said.
