Livni: We need to work with Palestinians to keep Israel's Jewish character

Opposition leader Tzipi Livni said that the answer to the conflict in Gaza is not in the hands of the government, but in what the opposition has to offer. Livni spoke at the Jerusalem Post Diplomatic Conference on Wednesday.

"Our strategy—different from the government, we have one—is to create an alliance with moderate leaders against the extremists," Livni said. "We plan to work with the moderate representatives of the Palestinian Authority to achieve peace."

"We need to achieve peace with the Palestinians to keep in Israel a Jewish majority," Livni said.
