Opposition leader Tzipi Livni (Kadima) met with Esther Pollard on Monday and told her that Israel is doing everything within its power to free Jonathan Pollard. Livni added there is a general unity within Israel around the issue of his release. Livni said that the issue of Esther's husband's freedom was at the core of a series of meetings with top US diplomats. "Pollard paid a heavy price for his contribution to the State of Israel," Livni said, adding that she would bring up the issue during meetings with American officials in the US next week.
