Man arrested after attempted robbery of charity in Sderot

Sderot police on Tuesday arrested a man who tried a rob a branch of the Yad Sarah charity organization in the western Negev city.

According to police, on Tuesday a worker at the city's Yad Sarah branch was closing up the office at night when a masked man forced his way in and began fighting with the man. The manager fought back and managed to strip the mask off the man's face, police said, adding that the suspect then fled the scene.

Moments later, the manager called police and officers on patrol managed to pick the man up nearby.

On Wednesday, he was taken for a remand extension where the court ordered him kept in custody until next Monday.
