Police on Sunday night arrested a man who was reportedly trying to smuggle heroin into Israel from Lebanon. Th man was arrested by a team consisting of police from the Lebanon border unit of the Galilee district and IDF soldiers. On his person he was reportedly carrying 11.5 kilos of heroin. The suspect, a man in his thirties from Beit Zarzir, was taken before a remand hearing on Monday, where the judge ruled he must stay in custody until Friday.
