A man believed to be mentally unstable stabbed a police officer in the West Bank settlement of Kiryat Arba on Wednesday, causing him moderate-to-serious wounds.

After stabbing the police officer, the man attempted to stab other people in the area, lightly wounding one person.

Bystanders were able to subdue the suspect.

The motive for the attack is not believed to be nationalistic.
