Man dies after being hit by car fleeing police

A man hit by a car fleeing police in Tel Aviv died of his wounds on Sunday, police said.

Police spotted a suspicious vehicle at the Hilton hotel parking lot at Tel Aviv harbor early Sunday morning. The car broke through the parking lot gate and fled police, driving on the wrong lane on Ben Zvi street in the city, where it hit a man, critically wounding him.

The driver abandoned the car, and police is looking for him.

The man later succumbed to his wounds at Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv.
