A man sitting in his car was shot and killed by unknown assailants in the Arab town of Zemer in central Israel.

Police were searching the area for suspects.

MDA paramedics received a call at approximately 1 p.m. on a critically injured man, sitting in a car near a mosque. Paramedics arrived at the scene, attempting to resuscitate the man as they transported him to Hillel Yafe Medical Center in Hadera.

He was pronounced dead en route to the hospital.
