The Tel Aviv District Court sentenced a man to 18.5 years in prison for raping and sexually abusing his step-granddaughter when she was 9-years-old, as well as another female relative, who was also a minor at the time.
The man also received a year and a half of suspended sentence, and must pay NIS 15,000 in compensation to his step-granddaughter, as well as NIS 5,000 to his second victim.
"We feel there's no need to elaborate on the mental and psychological pain that a sexual harassment victim carries with them to their last day," the judges wrote in the ruling. "It's true for adults, and even more so for vulnerable minors."
