Massachusetts will honor Israel’s 67th Independence Day on Sunday, May 31 – a day Governor Charlie Baker has proclaimed "Celebrate Israel Day."

Thousands of Israeli-Americans, Jews and supporters of the Jewish state are expected to flock to Waltham for the Celebrate Israel Boston Festival, a cultural event that will feature Israeli musicians and entertainers.

Israel is "a tremendous partner, economically and culturally," Gov. Baker said in a statement on Thursday. The state has "one of the largest communities of Israelis outside of Israel...and hundreds of thousands of Massachusetts residents have deep personal ties to Israel.”
