Meretz MK decries Israel's detainment of BDS activist

MK Mossi Raz (Meretz), who is at Lara Alqasem's appeal hearing in the Tel Aviv District Court responded to the state's position.

"Erdan's snowball continues to roll. The state is raising legal arguments to try to justify its puzzling decision not to allow Lara to study in Israel. There is an attempt to portray Israel as a defensive democracy "defending" itself against a 22-year-old student who hasn't been a BDS activist for a year and a half already."

"In particular, the state's claim that a Google search is a valid argument is ridiculous."

"I call on Erdan and Deri - stop this circus. You are causing tremendous damage to Israel's image."
