Minister Steinitz: Government to reconsider water tax

Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz (Likud) told Israel Radio Sunday morning that the government will consider repealing or seriously reducing the water tax. The government will only reconsider the tax at the end of the current rain season. The tax has resulted in a twenty percent savings in water consumption, he said, adding that the tax is vital for the next three years, until the construction of desalination plants is completed.
