Minister inaugurates Tel Aviv's 1st hybrid public bus

Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz inaugurated in Tel Aviv on Wednesday Israel's first hybrid public bus, purchased by company Dan North for usage in Haifa's forthcoming bus rapid transit (BRT) system.
The bus, manufactured by Dutch firm Advanced Public Transport Systems and using its Phileas system, is 19 meters long and can carry up to 136 passengers, saving up to 20 to 30 percent in fuel consumption.
