Ministry of Defense decided to purchase 2,000 smart sights after a successful trial period in top IDF combat duty units, Yedioth Ahronoth reported. Manufactured by Smart Shooter, the smart sight is called Pigayon [Dagger] and is installed on the weapon. The technology prevents the weapon from firing unless the designated target is within range.
