Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan on Wednesday approved loosening restrictions concerning the procurement of a weapons permit for citizens.
"In light of the current security situation, I have decided to ease requirements for obtaining a weapons license" Erdan said.
"Many civilians in recent weeks have helped Israeli police neutralize terrorists who carried out attacks." Erdan added.
"Citizens trained in operating weapons" contribute "in the fight against terrorism and therefore I acted to ease restrictions at this time," he said.
