Groups campaigning for Britain to vote to leave the European Union in a June 23 referendum far outperformed those campaigning for an "In" vote in terms of donations in recent weeks, new figures from the Electoral Commission showed on Thursday.

The various groups on the "Out" side received a total of 3.8 million pounds ($5.6 million) between April 22 and May 12, while the "In" campaigns received a combined 1.6 million pounds.
