Former Mossad agent Rafi Eitan was laid to rest today after passing away at age 92 on Saturday.
Eitan, known around the world as an Israeli ‘master-spy’, lead an impressive career in the Intelligence Service as well as a stint in politics serving as minister under former prime minister Ehud Olmert, he was in charge of looking after the interests of elderly Israelis.
Eitan provided the inspiration for the fictional character of Martin Kurtz in the 1983 novel The little drummer girl
by John Le Carre.
