Police on Sunday arrested a 53-year-old woman suspected of trying to drown her 9-year-old daughter at a Tel Aviv beach.

A civilian and a local security official in the area prevented the woman from carrying out the attack. The daughter was not injured in the incident.

Authorities brought the woman, a resident of Tel Aviv, for further investigation at the Lev Tel Aviv station.
