New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg will inaugurate the new Magen David Adom station in Jerusalem, named after his father the late William Henry Bloomberg.
Bloomberg raised the necessary funds for building the new station, and also contributed himself.
According to Magen David Adom statement released on Monday, the building will include four floors, and will include an operational center "equipped with the best technology, a safe shelter for emergency situations, a garage for ambulances and EMT operations, a blood donating center, a paramedics school, a visitors center and an auditorium."
Bloomberg will arrive in Israel on Sunday in the afternoon, and is expected to depart from Israel shortly after the inauguration ceremony for the new center, the statement said.
