The David's Sling missile interception system will become operational in Israel on Sunday afternoon, said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the weekly cabinet meeting.

The mid-range anti-missile system is set to become the latest installment in the country's projectile defense arsenal, which also includes the Iron Dome system that targets short-range missiles and the long-range Arrow system.

"We have an absolute commitment to the security of Israel," he said. "As part of this commitment we are systematically working to strengthen Israel's attack capabilities against its enemies, while simultaneously working to strengthen our defense capabilities in the face of our enemies."
