“[Blue and White leaders] Benny Gantz and Yair Lapid will not be able to stand up to Iran,” said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday evening, “I fought a US President [Barack Obama]!”

Netanyahu said he withstood “massive pressure” from the US administration to “hand over parts of Judea and Samaria to the Palestinians” under Obama's administration. He thanked US President Donald Trump “for the deep friendship between us” and for moving the US embassy to Jerusalem.
“Do you remember that Yair Lapid said I don’t understand the US?” He asked the crowd “isn’t it funny?”

Netanyahu went on to say his "deep, heartfelt" commitment is to the "security and safety of the Jewish people here in our land" gave him the strength to stand up to Obama.
