Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Sunday addressed his decision to appoint Likud Minister Moshe Ya'alon to serve as the next Defense Minister, touting the former IDF chief of staff's security credentials.

"In such a decisive period for the security of the State of Israel when the entire surrounding region is turbulent, it is crucial that a man with such rich experience as Moshe Ya'alon will occupy the post of Defense Minister. In the name of all Israel's citizens I wish him success," Netanyahu stated.
