Netanyahu lauds efforts to bring some of the last Jews in Yemen to Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday lauded clandestine efforts that over the past few days brought some of the last renaming Jews from Yemen to Israel.

Netanyahu's remarks came in response to an announcement earlier Monday by the Jewish Agency of a mission that culminated in the aliya of 19 Jews from the towns of Rayadah and Sanaa.

"Likewise we also have an obligation to make aliya [possible] for our brothers in Ethiopia," he said at a Likud faction meeting. "We will facilitate the aliya of hundreds of them this year and the year to come."

In his remarks, the premier also saluted the IDF and Magen David Adom for their work to return to Israel its citizens who were wounded in a suicide bombing in Istanbul over the weekend.

The prime minister underlined that Israeli intelligence officials were still working to determine whether the attack in Turkey was aimed at Israeli nationals, adding that the issue remained unclear.
