Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a greeting to the country's Muslims Thursday to mark the beginning of Ramadan, reminding them that they are living in an island of stability in a sea of Muslim violence and blood-letting.

“I wish you all the best in the world,” Netanyahu said. “But we know that this years as well the whole world is not good – the Muslim world is marking he month of Ramadan with the Middle East in flames as a result of a civil war and religious war between Sunni and Shi'ites,” he said.

Netanyahu said Israel would “continue to be an island of security and stability in the stormy sea surrounding us, where extremist Islamic factions are killing one another, and those of other regions as well. Israel is the only state in the region that respects freedom of religion and worship for all religion, and you know that better than anyone else. You are an integral part of Israeli society.”
