Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday thanked visiting US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley for "standing up" to the United Nations, the day after she demanded the body's human rights council end its "chronic anti-Israel bias."

Shortly after arriving in Israel for her three-day visit, Haley responded to Netanyahu, saying "all I did was tell the truth, and I'm quite thrilled by the reaction."

She further stated that "if there is something that I have zero tolerance for its bullying, and the United Nations has acted with such behavior toward Israel simply because it can."

However, Haley sparked a hopeful note saying that she believed change was afoot regarding the UN's approach to Israel.
