US President Donald Trump signed an official American recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights on Monday evening. 

Before the signature, Trump made  a joined statement with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and said that “any possible future middle east deal must account for Israel’s right to self-defense” before inviting Netanyahu to speak. Referring to an IDF strike that began in the Gaza Strip on Monday evening, Netanyahu said that he would return to Israel. 

"Israel won't accept this," he said, "I won't accept it."



“Israel never had a better friend than you,” Netanyahu said to Trump. 

Trump handed the pen with which he signed to Netanyahu asking him to present it to the people of Israel,
