New Budgeting and Planning Committee head appointed

Prof. Manuel Trachtenberg on Tuesday was appointed by the Council for Higher Education's general assembly as the new director of the council's Budgeting and Planning Committee. Trachtenburg, who currently heads the National Council for Finance in the Prime Minister's Office, will begin his new position on September 1st, and will replace the current director of the Budgeting and Planing Council, Prof. Shlomo Grossman, who has held the position since 2002. The committee, which is viewed as the most important body within the Council for Higher Education, deals with the division of budgetary funding between universities and colleges across the country.
