New Israeli ambassador Michael Oren was due to land in the United States Monday to present his credentials at the US State Department to start his term, according to the Israeli embassy. Oren was born in the United States and became a prominent Middle East historian in Israel, where he also served as an IDF spokesman to the foreign media during large operations like the Gaza disengagement and war their this winter before being tapped for the envoy role.
