New toll route into Tel Aviv to open early January

Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz announced on Monday that the new toll route into Tel Aviv will be open for traffic on January 7.

In a press conference in Tel Aviv, the minister said that the new road would bring real change to the hundreds of thousands of daily commuters to the city, increase the use of public transportation and reduce the number of vehicles entering the city.

The tolls will be collected in a differential system depending on the traffic congestion, ensuring a minimum travel speed of 70 k/ph.
