Obama, Canada's Harper in common front on Gaddafi

WASHINGTON - US President Barack Obama and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper agreed on Monday on the need to deter further violence by Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's government and to consider additional actions against it as needed, the White House said.
Obama, in a telephone call with Harper as part of a series of contacts with world leaders to coordinate strategy on Libya, "underscored their common purpose in responding to the situation," the White House said in a statement.
