Turkey and the US agree that Syrian President Bashar Assad "needs to go," US President Barack Obama said Thursday in a joint press conference with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the Rose Garden.

Obama said that the two countries would continue increasing pressure on Assad's regime while working with the opposition to end the crisis.
