US President Barack Obama on Wednesday spoke before the 66th seesion of the UN General Assembly in New York, quoting Franklin Roosevelt, "We need not only peace, but a peace that will last."

He added that a lasting peace depends on a sense of justice, opportunity, dignity and freedom.

Obama said that the US would continue to pull troops out of Afghanistan.
