WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama said on Wednesday there are more steps Washington could be taking now to create jobs and boost the US economy, pressing Congress to take action.

"There are more steps that we can take right now that would help businesses create jobs here in America," he said.

Obama mentioned raising taxes, a move opposed by Republicans, and cutting health care spending by reducing costs that, according to the US president, won't affect senior citizens.
