Speaking at a New York City firehouse on Thursday, US President Barack Obama said the United States will not forget the attacks of September 11, 2001, alluding to the recent operation that killed former Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden earlier this week.

Obama, who is scheduled to visit with families of 9-11 victims later Thursday, told firefighters: "When we say we will never forget, we mean what we say," the Associated Press reported."
