Former prime minister Ehud Olmert on Thursday said the current government in Israel "could lead Israel to isolation," Army Radio reported.

Speaking in Tel Aviv, Olmert stated: "The Israeli government could lead us to a situation where the state can no longer survive. Our refusal to conduct negotiations will lead to isolation," Army Radio reported.

Referring to recent tensions between Jerusalem and Washington, Olmert said: "Is it in our best interest to publicly confront the most powerful man in the world, who is committed to the fight against Iran?"
