Ahmed Ferhani on Tuesday was indicted for allegedly plotting to blow up synagogues in New York City, The Associated Press reported.

Prosecutors were taking more time to present a case against Ferhani's co-defendant, Mohamed Mamdouh.

The two were arraigned on initial charges of conspiracy as a crime of terrorism last week.

Prosecutors claim the suspects were recorded discussing an attack on a synagogue. Ferhani was allegedly arrested buying weapons and ammunition. Both men deny the allegations.
