Police investigators are looking into allegations that a senior official in the Or Yehuda municipality committed a number of sex crimes against numerous women in his employ.

The official is alleged to have used his position of authority to engage in unlawful relations with women. He is also suspected of illegally using public funds to purchase gifts for the women with whom he had relations.Authorities also believe that the official sought to impede the investigation into the matter.

The break in the case came as a result of an undercover investigation launched by the LAHAV 433 detective unit.

The Or Yehuda official was arrested and authorities conducted searches of his home and office.

Authorities are not revealing the identities of the women in question.
