Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has been discharged from hospital after undergoing medical checks on Saturday.

Abbas was hospitalized earlier in the day for exhaustion, according to a statement by his spokesman, Nabil Abu Radeina.

Palestinian sources told Ma'ariv, the sister publication of the Jerusalem Post, that Abbas is "suffering from exhaustion because he finished his visit in China and flew back at 3:00 a.m. on Friday morning and went from Amman directly to Ramallah. Then he held an emergency meeting to discuss the issue of the al-Aksa crisis, and this has made it very difficult."
