The Palestinian Authority on Monday called for Amman to put pressure on Israel on behalf of Jordanian prisoners in Israeli jails, Gulf News quoted a senior Palestinian official as saying.

The Palestinian minister of detainees’ affairs, Eisa Qaraqei, was quoted as saying it is "time for the Jordanian government to intervene and to put massive pressure on the Israeli government to save the life of Jordanian prisoners in Israeli jails."

Qaraqei added that the PA will "stand by the Jordanian prisoners and support them with all the possible capabilities,” Gulf News reported.
