Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Tuesday called on Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to recognize Israel as a Jewish state, saying in an address to an assembly of the Jewish Agency Board of Trustees: "I want to hear him say those six words: 'I will accept a Jewish State.'"
Netanyahu said, "I stood before my people and said I would accept a Palestinian state. Now President Abbas needs to stand before his people and say, 'I will accept a Jewish state."'
"This is the basic requirement for peace," he added.
